A Time of Reflection

A subtle shift is underway. Have you noticed?

Summer Solstice, the apex of the solar year, has passed. Shadows grow longer as daylight recedes. A slight chill relieves the Sun’s scorching rays.

It's Lammas, time to pause, reflect on recent changes and growth, gather the first harvest of fall. There’s a gentle slowing down, an urge to relax, breathe and take note of our accomplishments, to harvest the first fruits of our labors.

Whisper of tree leaves calms the soul as autumn sprinkles her gifts across the Northern Hemisphere. This is a time of ripeness, fulfillment. The community gathers to celebrate.

Also known as Lughnasadh, Lammas (July 31/August 1) is one of the four cross-quarter gateways known in pagan traditions as the Greater Sabbats. These powerful Earth-Moon-Sun alignments create energetic portals that magnify our thoughts and intentions. The veils between realms thin.

The cross-quarters are the mid-points between the Lesser Sabbats of the solstices and equinoxes. Sabbats honor the changing of the seasons and the cycles of inner growth we experience.

Traditionally, communities gather for Lammas Eve on July 31 to give thanks for the crops and pray for continued abundance as harvest continues throughout the fall. Corn rituals celebrate inner and outer fertility.

Those in the Southern Hemisphere begin to notice the first stirrings of new life at Imbolc, the mid-point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Originating with pagan tribes in western Europe, the myths and lore of the traditional Sabbats don’t fit precisely with the cultural experience of those who live below the equator, yet the seasonal shifts do relate on the opposite pole of the solar year, and the inner journey of the Sabbats is the same worldwide.

This is a time to stop and reflect, to set long-term goals and make adjustments before moving forward again beyond the gateway. Light a candle on Lammas Eve and give thanks for the first signs of harvest/new life in your life.

In this moment, contentment fills the soul.

Planetary Alignments Update

As the Sun transits the heart of Leo, love is in the air. The mood is lighter now that Mercury has turned direct and Venus, Jupiter and Uranus form a grand trine in feminine water signs. Pleasant, sweet surprises are on the way. Mercury's return to forward motion gives the celestial green light to plans and projects.

Change continues to build toward a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Leo, exact on August 7, and the Aquarius Full Moon on August 9. Watch for new and meaningful contacts, soul connections that accelerate evolution. The fullest, most empowered expression of your Divine Self takes center stage now.

These Are the Days

Exit the old. Enter the new. This is an amazing time to live on planet Earth.

A paradigm shift is taking place as vast cycles come to an end, bringing to completion a successful experiment in third-dimensional density, the Earth's and humanity's Dark Night of the Soul. A new world age is dawning. Social, cultural, scientific, economic, environmental and spiritual revolution is on the horizon, based on Aquarian ideals.

Along the way, celestial alignments are guiding humanity's growth and evolution. Venus' transit of the Sun in 2004 and 2012 and Pluto's transit of the Galactic Center in 2006-2007 are two of the most powerful and significant passages. Pluto destroys. Venus creates. New patterns emerge as we let go of the old ways and align with cosmic truth.

The December Solstice in 2012 marks the completion of enormous cycles of evolution recorded in many esoteric traditions. These are the "end times," when increasing levels of Light accelerate the changes needed to transform our world.

We may experience the changes as physical symptoms, emotional upheaval and disruptions to our lifestyle and thought processes. Meanwhile, Earth changes are accelerating. The changes lead to breakthrough experiences, profound bliss, glimpses of enlightenment. The soul urges us on, to break free, to create, to know.

In these times, mastery is within reach. First we die to the old ways, the illusion of existence as we've known it. We re-emerge radiant, renewed, empowered. A primal force within guides us in recreating, reshaping our destiny.

Navigating the shift is the core of my work as we vision a new reality together. Through writing, teaching, events and consultations, I work with individuals and groups to facilitate this transition to the next world age.
