Lotus Heart of Wesak
Love is the flowering of consciousness.
In the milky glow of the Wesak Moon, we grow in consciousness, grow in love. The lotus blooms within the heart of humanity in this sacred moment.
A new cycle is flowing into manifestation as the Moon waxes to full this week. On the Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus, May 12/13, we honor the path of mastery each soul has accepted for this lifetime. We meet on the etheric web, in an enchanted valley high in the Himalayas, to embrace and embody Divine Consciousness.
Wesak is one of the holiest days for Buddhists around the world, an opportunity for followers to come together and celebrate not only the Buddha's birthday, but also his enlightenment and achievement of Nirvana. In esoteric traditions, Wesak takes on further significance as a focal point for the ascended realms and incarnated initiates to join in communion, linking Heaven and Earth for the benefit of all beings.
In 1966, the Lama Govinda poetically described Wesak in the Himalayas:
"On this night a wondrous sight is seen by those who are present. The Full Moon rises like a fiery dome over the icy crests of Kailash...Heaven and Earth are connected...projecting a flood of light into the world of man. The Enlightened Ones and their retinue are believe to descend on the rays of the moon...to bless the faithful by their luminous presence. It is like a rite of transcendental communion...a truly universal Mass..."
For Buddhists around the world, the holy days of new and full moons - along with equinoxes, solstices and eclipses - are considered moments of auspicious coincidence. Any actions during these holy days are believed to carry much more karmic weight than on other days. Tibetans and Buddhists from other traditions recommend using these days for spiritual practice, as the results will be multiplied many times over for the benefit of all.
