Greetings Purr-fect Readers!
The Latest Meow Around the Cat Tale's Press Water Cooler
Welcome all new subscribers! Consummate Connecticut pre-reviews are in! Here's what Westchester (NY) Family Editor Jean Sheff says about the book: "The index alone is enlightening. Who knew that Litchfield has 20 annual festivals and events? All together, Maxwell explores some 48 cities, towns and villages with an eye for detail and family-fun that makes you want to get out the calendar and start planning."
Consummate Travel Tidbits
No plans this coming weekend? Get hitched or re-hitched during SWEET HEART DAYS AT HOWE CAVERNS, February 11 & 12, 2006. Howe Caverns, New York State's great cave (between Albany and Cooperstown), will take romantics 156-feet below the earth's surface to the Caverns's Bridal Altar for weddings, marriage proposals and vow renewals for a pre-Valentine's Day celebration. The Reverend Bert Mayne of the Carlisle Presbyterian Church will officiate at special ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday. After the ceremony, couples are invited to enjoy a complimentary tour of Howe Caverns. VOW RENEWAL CEREMONY TIMES: Saturday, February 11 at 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m. Marriage vow ceremonies are free (the regular $50 location fee is waived during this special celebration), however reservations are required by calling Howe Caverns at 888-696-2283; www.howecaverns.com. (For vow renewals at times other than those scheduled during Sweetheart Days, reservations are necessary and may be made by calling Howe Caverns at the number above.) WHAT CAN BE SWEETER THAN THIS? (email us if you have any other sweet ideas for travel tidbits!)
Take-Five, Rejuvenating the Reader's Spirit in Five Minutes or Less
Write a thank you note or a letter of appreciation (not email) to the first person who comes to mind. Really! Even if it's someone who lives with you. In a paragraph (five minutes or less), tell them what they mean to you. Short and sweet. (Don't forget to mail the letter--again, even if the person lives with you.) The best thing you can do for yourself is to think of someone else. Imagine, too, how nice it is to be the person on the receiving line! Valentine's Day can be ANY DAY of the year.
Nighty-Night
  Until next time,
Here’s to a PURR-FECT Week!

Meowingly yours,

The Staff at CTP
