Organizing Your Priorities
Memorial Day Message
I know Memorial Day was this past Monday, however I want to extend it just a few extra days by sending out my sincere and heartfelt thanks and gratitude to those subscribers who are presently serving, or who have served in the United States military in the past. I value and appreciate your service to our nation. Thank You.
How Many Are FREEcycling Today?
Decluttering your life is a wonderful way to rid yourself of the things that no longer give you value and a great way to help someone in need at the same time. All over the world, people are helping others and decluttering their lives by giving away the things they no longer need, through FREEcycle.org. This means that fewer items are going into the trash and filling up the landfills of our planet.
It's so simple to join! You just sign up through the web site, and you'll begin getting the emails that people in your local FREEcycle group send out either seeking free items, or offering free items. It's as simple as that! Just go to www.FREEcycle.org to sign up!
Number of cities FREEcycling last month: 446
Number of cities FREEcycling this month: 746
Number of people FREEcycling last month: 68,308
Number of people FREEcycling this month: 137,533 (wow what an increase!)
Check it out and let me know what you think of the idea. If you've received something or given something away through this wonderful concept, tell me about that too!
Organizing Your Priorities
When you think of organizing, you might just think of physical things. To be sure, a huge part of my business is helping my clients organize their home and work spaces and the things that are in those spaces. However, another aspect of living an organized life is organizing your priorities, because your priorities help determine the choices you make. And ultimately, the choices you make are what shape your life.
How can you choose where to spend your money, time and energy if you aren't even sure what is and what is not important to you? If you feel overwhelmed and stressed out, perhaps it's time to look at where you are spending your life and choose to let go of what isn't giving you value. Whether it's time commitments, activities, your work, relationships or physical clutter, letting go of what isn't truly important to you will free you up both physically and mentally to focus on what really is important.
Unclear priorities are a big cause of disorganization and chaos in life. If you are unclear on what matters, take some time to figure it out and make a conscious choice to let the rest go, even temporarily, and see what happens. Once you are able to quickly and easily determine what is worth giving your time, money and energy to, your focus will become clear and you will be able to move toward those things which are important and let the rest fall away. The result will be a simpler, yet more productive and joyful life.
