"Blessing Out Of Disaster" by
Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. 2 Chronicles 3:1 KJV
A death angel had once stood on the farm of Ornan (also called Araunah). The angel had slain 70,000 men as judgment for David's sin. Only God's mercy stayed the angel's hand.
David's sin, and the death angel's march, had been a disaster of the highest order. You would think Ornan's farm would have become a forbidden zone. Modern politicians and leaders would try to hide or bury the story.
Instead, David worshiped God at the place where judgment stopped and mercy began. While others ran from the angel, David calmly built an altar. As the smoke of David's sacrifice rose, God's forgiveness fell on David and the nation.
Your circumstances may be self inflicted. That is unimportant. Will you seek God's mercy? Will you worship God despite His judgment?
Despite his error, God accepted David. David made mistakes, but he never failed to sincerely seek God's forgiveness. David never failed to worship God, no matter what went wrong.
In the place of disaster, God sent blessing. At the place where judgment stopped worship began. Will you worship God until His mercy flows in your life? There is no disaster God can not end in blessing.
Think: God can turn every disaster into blessing, if you continue to trust and worship Him.
Pray: “Lord, as I worship, let Your mercy flow.”
