"God Is God" by Kirk Hunt

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Job 38:3-4 KJV

Almost every parent has (or will have) an eyeball-to-eyeball moment with their child. The kid may even be dealing with real hardships and frustrations. Still, the child owes his or her parent respect and confidence. Whether or not the kid understands. Whether or not the child agrees. Mom and Dad remain Mom and Dad. “You will watch your tone with me!”

Imagine Job's plight and frustration. Trauma and travail, accusation and reproof, had descended on him. Despite a lifetime of seeking God and His holiness. It's no surprise that his hurt, confusion and anger led him to an attitude against God.

Your circumstances may hurt beyond anything you thought possible. Whether or not you understand. Whether or not you agree. God remains God.

Sometimes, we forget we live privileged lives. As Christians, we live in His love and grace. We sometimes take for granted, or forget, that God is still the ultimate source of holiness, authority and judgment. “You will watch your tone with Him.

Pour your heart out to Him. Break your hurt, confusion, and even anger, before His throne. Just remember that God remains God. No matter what is happening in Your life, he remains the ultimate Sovereign.

Think: God remains God. No matter what.

Pray: “Lord, Help me to remember that I live in your love and grace, despite my situation.”
