| "You Shall Recieve" by
Kirk Hunt
And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 10:29-30 KJV A married couple in my church “adopted” an older couple. You would expect their deep level of love and tenderness to spring only from a natural-born relationship. Faithful and loyal, they have cared for “Mom and Dad” despite sickness and through Dad's funeral. Mom and Dad's lifetime of Godly living and selfless service have not been ignored by heaven. Without children in their marriage, they received a son and daughter who blessed their hearts and souls. The tears of Mom's loss are mingled with the tears of her gratitude. Nothing you give up in pursuit of Christ is ever lost. The accountancy of heaven won't allow it. The promises of Scripture guarantee it. That doesn't stop our hearts and minds from regretting short-term losses. We're human enough to cry when leaving something precious on the altar. You may not expect the form or format, but His reimbursement to your heart and soul will be deep and real. God rewards His faithful children. Don't be afraid to leave anything in His Hands. God always trades ounces of your tin for pounds of His gold. Think: God will reward my faith and faithfulness now and in heaven. Pray: “Lord, help me to trust that you will repay everything I surrender for You.” Copyright © August 2008, Kirk Hunt |
