“ Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy? Please read 1 Samuel 28:10-19 1 Samuel 28:16 KJV Demoralized, fearful and desperate, King Saul sought out one of the last living witches in Israel. She promptly made contact with a demonic spirit impersonating Samuel. The impostor demon gleefully enlarges the wounds in Saul's heart and soul. The enemy's words are always corrupt. Like cancer cells, the best lies contain a kernel of the truth. The enemy cover his massive payload of destruction with a thin veneer of the authentic. Despite the deception, you can always tell the devilish from the divine. A real message from God comes from Godly sources. An authentic Word from God can't be found through witchery or “secret” knowledge. God's Word is always confirmed through Scripture. God's truth is rooted in God's love. God loves you, and there is nothing you can do to change that. That doesn't mean He won't let you bear the consequences of your sin. God hates sin, but still loves sinners. The purpose of God's Word is always hope. A real message from God would have included the opportunity for repentance. God doesn't want anyone to despair. The bogus Samuel used this opportunity to completely break Saul's spirit. The word that comes from the enemy is always corrupt. Spend your time and money in prayer and Bible study. It is the only way to hear God's truth for your life. Think: Regular prayer and Bible study will let you clearly hear God's Voice. Pray: “Lord, help me to listen to Your Word and Spirit in obedience and humility.” Copyright © July 2008, Kirk Hunt |
