"Desperate For A Word" by
Kirk Hunt And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor. 1 Samuel 28:6-7 KJV
The Philistines warred bitterly with Israel at all times. The numbers and determination of the Philistine host at Shunem caused Saul to panic. Facing circumstances far beyond his ability, Saul suddenly wanted to listen to God. Trapped between the enemy horde and the silence of heaven, Saul grew desperate. Saul sought out a witch for counsel. Saul's sin of witchcraft is the same, whether motivated by continuing disobedience or blind panic. Seek God now. Before the big disaster strikes. While His grace is available for your life. God grants us free will. He won't force His way into your life. Scripture warns us that God doesn't indulge our disobedience forever. You have an opportunity to seek God, today. Don't delay. A truly repentant heart is always welcome at God's throne. Do the right thing to get a Word from heaven. Think: No matter what has gone before, seek God now and in the right way. Pray: “Lord, help me to listen to Your Word and remain obedient at all times.” Copyright © July 2008, Kirk Hunt |
