"A Fellowship Of Saints"
by Kirk Hunt Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. (Daniel 2:17-18 KJV) Please read Daniel 2. Christian men and women ought to develop themselves at every opportunity. Carefully self-manage your ever deepening knowledge of Scripture. Zealously develop your richer, stronger prayer life. Here's the hard part: Cultivate a network of Christian brothers and sisters. Here's the harder part: Allow them to have input in your life. Here's the hardest part: Sometimes, let them carry you. No one doubts Daniel's credentials as a prophet and contributor to Scripture. His integrity and moral fiber were tested once and again. Still, he needed Godly men to help him through some of the rough spots. You aren't made of stone. It's unlikely that your halo (if you have one) is visible to others as you walk the sidewalk. It's not a matter of will you need help, but when. It remains a blessing to be the giver. God gave you grace so that you can pass it on. Still, God gives grace to others. Sometimes, grace flows to you from your fellowship of saints. When you find the rough spot, you're going to need help getting over. That's why Scripture commands that we fellowship with Gospel brothers and sisters. Sometimes, God chooses not to send angels but saints. Think: No matter how strong I am, I will need help on my Gospel journey. Pray: “Lord, help me to graciously accept help from my brothers and sisters.'”
