The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. (Psalms 29:11 KJV)

Sit down. Relax. You need a break.

Yeah, I know. Kids. Spouse. Work. Church. There will be time, later. Or there isn't enough time now. Either way, you need a little rest.

That's why He sent you this way. He wanted you to rest in His Peace for a while. You aren't made out of stone.

You have to be careful with a busy schedule like yours. I used to say; "I'll sleep when I'm dead." I have learned to say; "Get some sleep or you will be dead."

Even Jesus withdrew from His work to rest at times. The living Word, God-in-flesh, took breaks. No big surprise that you and I need some down time.

Tell folks you're recharging. Or refueling. Or refilling. Yes, peacefulness is a spiritual discipline.

Don't be so busy that you can't just sit quietly with Him. I'm glad you're sitting down. Don't fidget so much.

Spending time in His presence is a saint's privilege. Don't ask. Don't tell. Don't do. Just listen.

It will sneak up on you. The long days. The short nights. The wounds and hurts you pretend didn’t happen. You will bog down if you don't sit in His peace from time to time.

You're doing a good job. Accept the reward of His presence. Soak in His grace. Drink in His quiet.

See how much better you feel? Aren't you glad you took the time? He sure is.

Think: Christians make time to sit quietly with God.

Pray: “Lord, help me seek Your quiet presence more often.”
