"It Shall Be Well"
by Kirk Hunt And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well. (2 Kings 4:22-23 KJV) “It shall be well.” This declaration comes from towering faith and unshakable confidence in God. Despite the cold reality of her son's lifeless body, the Shunammite woman believed her little boy would live again. The presence of faith is not the absence of feeling or understanding. Once she reached Elisha her grief and anguish flowed out of her. The knocks and wounds of life hurt the faithful at least as much as the faithless. The presence of faith is not the absence of action. Her faith sent her over long miles of hard road. The faithful often work harder than anyone else. The presence of faith is the presence of hope and expectation. The Shunammite woman hope lay in God's power. Her expectation was that resurrection power could flow through the prophet Elisha. Your circumstances may be painful or unpleasant. You may be working long and hard. Stay the course. Continue to hope and expect. God's power has an answer for you. Your faith will guide you to His answer for your life. Your faith will be fulfilled and it shall be well. Think: Faith feels, understands and works in hope and expectation. Pray: “Lord, help me to have faith in You and Your answer for me.” Copyright © January 2008, Kirk Hunt |
