"Get Back Up" by
Kirk Hunt For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (Proverbs 24:16 KJV) Just when you thought all of your old nature dead, you slip. Much to your horror, it all comes flooding back. Despite your Bible study. Regardless of your prayer. Face down in the muck and mire you wonder if you'll ever be clean again. Look up. Jesus' Hand is reaching out to you. He understands. His love for you is just as strong. Get back on your feet. Every Christian man or woman repents at least twice: Once at conversion, and once again along the journey. Real saints know this. The tears of the righteous are often in gratitude for new and fresh forgiveness. His mercy extends to those who make mistakes. Grace will usher you back to the righteous road. The Blood of Christ will clean you up, again. Would it be better to avoid error? Of course. Christian men and women are working to be perfect, just as He is perfect. Still, face down in the mud, it's impossible to deny the facts and figures. Repentance is not just for new converts. Even old saints need to visit the altar from time-to-time. Get up. Get back on God's road. Jesus still believes in you. Have faith in Him. Think: God restores those who repent to Him. Pray: “Lord, forgive my mistakes. Jesus, guide me back to the righteous road..”
