"An Answer From Heaven" by Kirk Hunt Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. (1 Kings 18:38 KJV) (Please also read 1 Kings 18: 36–39) The sacrifice and altar, soaked and saturated with water, flared brightly. Fire from heaven fell to earth and the spirits of the witness also flared brightly. Meat, wood, stones and all were flash incinerated without singeing anyone. Elijah's spoke a simple prayer and ultimate power answered. Simple faith heard from unending faithfulness. The dry and empty mini-crater spoke more eloquently of God's power, judgment and mercy than Elijah ever could. Perhaps your heart has cried out to Him long and hard. It could seem that your answer will never come. Elijah waited through three and one-half years of drought for his answer. Others in Scripture waiting longer for their answers. However long you wait, God will answer. Never mind the odds. Pay no attention to the opposition. Above all, don't give in to your own fears and uncertainties. When the time is right, fire will fall on you and your circumstances. Your situation, soaked and saturated as it is, will flare brightly. And every witnesses will have only one response: “The Lord, He is the God!” Think: God will send an answer to my prayer. Pray: “Lord, teach me to wait for and accept the answer that You send.”
