“ When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. (John 2:9-10 KJV) The Son of man. The Holy One of God. Messiah. What should have been the first public miracle of Jesus' earthly ministry? Commanding the weather? Healing the sick? Resurrecting the dead? I'm sure a publicist would have advised Jesus to create sensationalism and notoriety. A theologian would have advised a very public proof of prophetic Scripture. A synagogue (church) leader would have asked for definitive proof of His divine authority. The “common wisdom” definitely points to something “significant.” Jesus chose to provide wine for a wedding feast. With all of His power and all of His message, He kept the hosts of a party from being embarrassed. He cares about you. You are foremost in his concerns. No detail of your life is too small to be noticed by the Creator. Jesus sent a message to the Disciples then, and us today. With all of His power and all of His message, He is concerned about people. He cares about us. Jesus cares for you. He made miraculous provision for a wedding party. Jesus cares about the details of your life. He will provide for you. Think: Jesus cares about our lives and wellbeing. Pray: “Lord, thank You for being concerned about my life.”
