Counting our Blessings With Thanksgiving almost upon us, we try to pause and think about all the wonderful friends, family, experiences and opportunities that we have been given. Just think, only a few short years ago, we were both still working "day jobs" and looking forward to some unknown retirement -- but we knew it would include travel. Now, we spend our days encouraging others to 'Live their Dreams'. We had never written a thing professionally, nor did we know anything about the book business, but "oh baby", what we've learned! For that we are blessed. We are also so fortunate to hear from so many of you about your dreams, and of course, that makes all the long days worth it. We also have strong family ties, a wonderful circle of friends, and a life that is full of hope and opportunities. We hope that this holiday season finds all of you similarly blessed in your lives - whether you are retired, thinking of retirement, or in the fullness of your career - there is always something new in life to look forward to and new blessings to be counted. Happy Thanksgiving. Phil and Carol White |

| Holidays are a great time for book gifts With all the electronics controlling our lives, don't you just love sitting down with a good book to savor in a quiet corner? Nothing seems to get us slowed down and in the moment of enjoyment like a book. Of course, we think Live Your Road Trip Dream is the perfect gift for your road tripping friends (or wanna-be roadtrippers), but let's say that you've given everyone a copy of it -- now what? This month, I'm featuring a number of books from my bookshelf that I have enjoyed and thought you might want to consider also. All are available on Amazon and many are stocked in bookstores too. Send me your favorite current books too - I'll try to include a few next month before Christmas. |

| Renee and I have been corresponding about her plans after this nice review on Amazon.com. I'm always thrilled when I see that someone has been inspired enough to take time to tell others. Thanks Renee. I'm in the early stages of planning a major road trip, and Phil and Carol's book is exactly what I was looking for to help my husband and I cover our bases and ensure a smooth transition to life on the road for a while. Before buying it, I checked out their website, and was impressed by the quality of their content, especially the free and highly useful Master Planning Worksheet. Based on what I saw, I decided to purchase the book, and was not disappointed. You won't be either. One of the things I liked the most was their perspective on how they like to travel, places to go and what to see. They didn't do the classic "Griswold Family Vacation" (as in the Chevy Chase movie), and stick to the old standards that 95% of Americans like to see on their summer vacations. Phil and Carol are kinda quirky, and enjoy the more esoteric and oddball attractions in our big nation. Their choice of vehicle for the journey says a lot about who they are...a van conversion like the one they travelled in is definitely for the more adventurous traveler. But the book isn't just about where they went, it's also about how they made the leap to decide to do it. A lot of people need a kick in the [...] to take a journey like this, and Phil and Carol's documentation of why and how they did it is exactly what we all need to get off the couch and experience life! You'll love this book. |

Can't get the reservation that you want from the 800 reservation service? Always call the local number. Many times they have rooms/camp sites/tickets available that aren't shown on the national reservation systems.

| It must be the cooler weather that brings on the reading bug in me. So I thought I'd pull a few ideas off my reading shelf to share with you for this season of sharing and gift giving. Each has it's Amazon link for you. The New Retirement Jan Cullinane and Cathy Fitzgerald have really put together "The Ultimate Guide to the rest of your life". They talk about everything from where to live, reprogramming your time, travel, making your money last, taxes and bunches of great worksheets. A "must have" for everyone approaching that time of their life. A great gift. The Spirit of the Oregon Coast For anyone who has ever been to the Oregon Coast, heard about the beauty of the Oregon Coast, or just looking for a nice gift photo book for a gift -- this one hits the mark. By local Oregon photographers, turned book mavens, Suzanne and Bruce Watkins, this is a beautifully photographed book, with descriptions of many of our Oregon Coast favorite locations. Honeymoon with My Brother Phil laughed his way through this book. A hilarious adventure about one brother who got dumped at the alter -- and decided to take his brother on his "honeymoon". On my stack now. Support Your RV Lifestyle Jaimie Hall calls her book "The insiders guide to working on the road". For any of you contemplating living full-time on the road and wanting to supplant your regular income with some additional funds, this is the industry bible on how to do it. Whatever you decide to read -- or to give as a gift, I hope you will think of books. They are so much more satisfying than yet another electronic device in your ear!
Don’t forget! Personally autographed copies of the book are always available on our website
