2006 Already? Happy New Year to you all. By now the boxes of decorations are put away and we’re all starting to look forward to spring. That also means it is time to start thinking about those summer travel plans – at least dreaming about where you might want to go. Our calendar is already starting to look crowded, how about yours? Our spring book tour in southern California/Arizona is shaping up, a spring winery trip to Washington state, a May trip to Washington, DC to speak at a national meeting, our annual all-family trip, a girls trip, golf trips, and more. But the most fun trip will be with two of the grandchildren on their “48-inch” trip. What in the world is that? It started with the oldest grandchildren. We told them when they could go on the big rides (48 inches) we would take them to
We hope you’ll plan some fun trips too this year.

Help Us Spread the Word!
Live Your Road Trip Dream had a very good holiday season and continues to have momentum in the New Year. As we prepare to embark on our spring publicity, we hope that your comments to friends and your favorite book stores will be part of that mix. If you have recently finished reading the book, and enjoyed it, please take a minute to add your comments to either Barnes & Noble or Amazon Comments from enthusiastic readers make all the difference in a book’s popularity. And since we aren’t Random House or Simon & Schuster – it’s doubly important! Thanks for your help.

Someone else planning their dream trip Speaking of enthusiastic comments, this post on Amazon really struck me: “This is the best book!! My husband and I are planning to travel cross country and he bought me this book for Christmas... I haven’t been able to put it down... very helpful in giving you a framework to start planning... opens your eyes to many areas to further research... we highly recommend the book...” Thank you Beth! When I contacted her to get permission to use her comments, she went on to explain their plans a little further: “The book is wonderful. It has planted so many seeds in our minds. We are planning on doing the trip in a smaller SUV and are planning on bringing our dog. We have quite a bit of research left to do to finalize our plans. We laughed about the passages re: your travel companion. My husband and I are rehabbing two houses at one time planning a wedding and both of us working full time jobs. We figure if we can get through that we can get through anything!! Thank you for the book it has been very helpful. We're looking forward to our trip in 2007!!” We know that these folks are well on their way to living their dreams – congratulations and please stay in touch as the day gets closer! |

How about "Going Topless"? Now here is a crazy trip if I’ve heard of one! Traveling across country in a “topless” car? Here is what the driver says of her adventure: “In April 2002 author/driver Alyce Cornyn-Selby climbed into a very topless "open cockpit" roadster and drove from one side of "This trip is about SOME Day," declares Alyce. "People say 'Some day I'm gonna write a book, some day I'm gonna go to Alyce went on to write a book about her adventure “Hit the Road – Across America in a topless car” and it is a hoot as is she. She and I enjoyed a delightful lunch this week with “the car” parked just outside. It was really fun just watching the people watching the car. Find Alyce and her adventures at www.goingtopless.info
