My essay in Soulfulliving.com is now online.
Lessons, Lessons, Life is Just One Big Classroom After All
"We ought not to look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dear-brought experience." --George Washington, First president of US
What are we learning?
We go to work, do our shopping and meet with our friends. We are doing what we are meant to do, we are living.
There are all the little things we learn that we don’t even think about. As children we learned how to walk, talk and how to ask for what we needed. Later we learn simple things; how to cut an onion without crying, that sneakers are better then wearing heels when walking 40 city blocks. We discover we like pop better then classical music. There are the multiple of life skills we acquire over the course of our life.
School is never over. The 4th grade science teacher may no longer be breathing down our necks but we are still learning. Sometimes the lessons smack us upside the head with their impact. Others times it is a slow subtle journey to
enlightenment. (read on)

You Gotta Have Heart
The times are tough don’t you agree? There is global warming and ice caps melting all over the place. We have wars, poverty and no apparent leadership anywhere. Why kind of world is this anyway? The real trouble is that we have the ability to change things and we don’t. Here in America we have the resources, the ability and the determination to do amazing things. What are we doing? Not our best. No not really. It would seem we more worry about the lives of celebrities then the poor before us. Is it easier to avert our eyes? Life is messy. It is not always easy to get up do our best work. I watched some odd movie where the people who lived in NYC were just dropping dead from broken hearts. All over the city they fell. They fell as the planet began to freeze and others began to fly off the earth. Though it was indeed an odd movie I was intrigued by the idea of hearts just breaking.
When the world seems to be going crazy it is so easy to close off our feelings. It does become too much for us to bear. But we can’t give up. We do have the resources, the ability. All we need now is a little more heart. Don’t you think our government would do better if it listened to the collective hearts of the country? Wouldn’t the planet be a little better if we honored love instead of anger or greed or our judgments?
I don’t know about you but I am tired of the negative stuff. I am tired of the rants and the anger and the pain. If my heart is going to break let it break from overflowing with the love it could no longer contain. That is a legacy I would be more willing to leave. “Her heart broke open and love spilled all over the place.” Wow what an epitaph. A strange one, but better then “she died when the world froze right over.”
February is the month of love. We have a couple of weeks left but the rest of our lives to engage in some serious loving. You gotta have heart and you must share the love. Spread it around. It could just be our little experiment. We are agents for loving change. Let’s go, love your self first and then the next person and the one after that. Remember you may not like a person or what they do, you just have to give ‘em a little love. It we are going to have global warming well then let us warm it up with love. Ok it’s a little corny, but give it a try. Spread the love around.

Romantic tips by Laurie Sue Brockway
13 Steps For Making Your Romantic Dreams Come True:
"Always be ready - you can meet that special someone at the most unexpected times and places." -- Dr. Judy Kuriansky, The Complete Idiot's Guide To Dating
Welcome to Project Soul Mate.
These tips will help you to open your heart, your arms and your life to love in 2005 and beyond. Forget about searching for the one who might be The One. First, clean up stuff you no longer need, get your life in order, and simultaneously, get ready for love. Here are just a few of my pearls of wisdom on the topic, culled from more than 25 years of work on the front line of the Relationship Revolution and many more than that out and about on Love's Battlefield.
Tip #9: Don’t hate being single
It’s important to embrace being single and honor the state of not yet having a mate. It's important to use time as a single person to prepare for being in a relationship. Some people hate being single but the truth is, the time of longing and yearning for love is the time to prepare for real love by assessing your life, creating the life you want to be leading -- even if there is on one to share it with yet -- and reflecting on past mistakes that you do not want to recreate.

Abundance tips from Lucia Luna: Do you really need to buy that?
When you have strong yearnings to buy something, stop and let the feelings come to the surface. When you have strong yearnings to buy something, stop and feel the sensations in your body. Is there a tension, anxiety, or a feeling of agitation in your chest or abdomen? Is there tightness in your neck or shoulders?
Make an agreement with yourself, not to buy anything as long as these feelings persist. When the feeling passes, you can make a rational decision as to whether you really need the desired object, if there is something else you would rather do with the funds, or if you'd rather not spend anything.
Lucia Luna, MSC, CHHC is an expert at empowering women to take their focus off perceived limitations and to use the power of the mind to move toward the fulfillment of their life purpose, visions, and goals. With over 30 years of business and professional experience, and over 20 years in the study and practice of meditation, nutrition, and deliberate creation, Lucia teaches prosperity and health mastery to groups and private clients.
