From Wild Woman Network: One Egg, Over Easy...

Welcome to the 5th installment of WWN arriving in your mailbox around the 15th of every month.

The self-coaching program has started and our first exercise was to buy a dozen eggs and crack one into a bowl and then write.  If we felt we were getting distracted we were to stir our egg. Crack! Break through resistance.  Stir!  Come back to the task in front of you.

Imagine carrying a dozen eggs on the subway. When you felt some resistance coming on, you would turn to person next to you.
Hey mister?  You don't mind if I crack an egg on your
knee?  I got some resistance that is keeping me from writing and gee your knee would be useful about now.

If I tossed a couple of eggs at some sleeping heads I would be really alive.  I might be running for my life but I would be alive.

What makes you feel alive? Do you even feel awake? There are days when I think I am just sleepwalking though my life.
I wake up a year later and just can't figure what I have doing.  That is not a great way to live.  Maybe this is my one chance at living or maybe I have another couple more lifetimes to muddle through, either way it seems to be truly living and really awake is the way to go.

In Eric Maisel's Creativity Book he has a chapter on rousing oneself from a deep sleep.  Basically he says, "Yell WAKE UP as loud as you can. Yell so loud the cops come and then you can tell them you are trying to wake up.  In the book Maisel writes a note that you can show the police. "Dear Officer I told this person to do this so they could wake up."

If we could carry an egg or note that would be great but maybe we can take simple steps to bring us back to the here and now. Consider carrying something in your pocket to remind you to keep awake.  A stone, or string of beads or a rubber ball could help.  If you can set your phone to send you an alert at specific times of the day.  WAKE UP!  LIVE! BE TRULY ALIVE!

Take an aliveness break.  Skip the coffee break and go for a walk. Try to discover one new thing in your environment.  Join a dance class, learn the drums, or going to a funny movie with friends.  Skip down the street.  Calling attention to yourself in legal ways could really shake you out of the doldrums.

Be wild. Go ahead.  What do have to lose?  A little sleep?

Writing Contest!
Holistic Expressions is pleased to announce its Fall 2005 writing contest!

EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY.
Using your amazing power of creativity, choose from one of the three photos provided in the link to spark your creative juices.
Then write a short story (400 to 1000 words). We usually write about people, places and things. For this fall's writing contest, write about a place. What feelings are invoked when you look at your photo selection? Is it a familiar or new place? What would happen if you were to walk into the photo and into one of these places? Be wildly inventive; create characters, a plot line. Have fun creating an adventure... and take us along for the ride. Find more contest details in the link below.

Wild Woman Tips:

Keeping Inspiration High    By Barbara Winter, author of Jumpstart Your Entrepreneurial Spirit!

There are three ways to run a business: Inspired, Uninspired or With Occasional Flashes of Inspiration. Whether its music or the words of a particular author or the company of another entrepreneur, know where your Inspiration Well is and go to the Well often. Take good care of the boss. It doesn't matter how great a dream is if the dreamkeeper is too tired or uninspired to bring it to life. Sometimes the easiest things to do are also the easiest to overlook, like drinking plenty of water and avoiding toxic people. Make your workspace a place that inspires you. Whether you work on a beach with your laptop or in an extra bedroom in your home, make it inspiring as well as efficient. Burn incense, play classical music, have a tabletop fountain, and/or cover your walls with art or an inspiration board that pictures your dreams.

Barbara Winter is a Minneapolis-based entrepreneur; writer and speaker who has spent the past 17 years helping people discover their passions and turn them into profitable businesses. She is the author of the best-selling book, Making  a Living Without a Job: Winning Ways for Creating Work That You Love (Bantam,   1993), and the publisher of Winning Ways, the newsletter for people living and
working with passion.

13 Steps For Making Your Romantic Dreams Come True:
"Always be ready - you can meet that special someone at the most unexpected times and places." --  Dr. Judy Kuriansky, The Complete Idiot's Guide To Dating .

Welcome to Project Soul Mate. These tips will help you to open your heart,  your arms and your life to love in 2005 and beyond.  Forget about searching for the one who might be The One. First, clean up stuff  you no longer need, get your life in order, and simultaneously, get ready for love. Here are just a few of my pearls of wisdom on the topic, culled from  more than 25 years of work on the front line of the Relationship Revolution and many more than that out and about on Love's Battlefield.

#5. How to know when you know.
Arielle Ford tells the stories of 101 soul mates in Hot Chocolate for The Mystical Lover (Plume). She says there was one telltale sign that confirmed to these soul mate couples that true love had arrived:
"There is almost always a distinct moment when soul mates recognize each other. Sometimes it’s simple, mutual love at first sight. And sometimes one or both parties hear a small, still voice confirm: "she’s the one" or "this is the one your will spend your life with." Liberation from things that clutter our lives, closure with the past and clarity about who we are is what enables us to hear our own inner guidance so loud and clear.  Stay tuned for tips 6-13

Abundance Tips from Lucia Luna:

Since we are usually fairly unconscious of our core beliefs, assumptions and attitudes, our external life is a great feedback system since whatever is happening “out there” in physical form is a reflection of what’s going on inside of us.  Regardless of your level of income, assume that whatever is happening in your financial reality is in some way a reflection of your beliefs about money.  If you are having financial difficulties, this is a message telling you that something within you needs to be looked at, some change is needed.  The first step is to gain greater internal awareness.  Ask yourself the following questions.  In what ways am I reacting against parental beliefs about money?  How are these ideas shaping my attitudes toward money today? What beliefs do I have about money that may be limiting my supply?  Next challenge these beliefs and take steps toward forming thoughts and beliefs you desire, beliefs that will attract abundance into your life.

Lucia Luna, MSC, CHHC is an expert at empowering women to take their focus off perceived limitations and to use the power of the mind to move toward the fulfillment of their life purpose, visions, and goals. With over 30 years of business and professional experience, and over 20 years in the study and practice of meditation, nutrition, and deliberate creation, Lucia teaches “prosperity and health mastery” to groups and private clients.  For more information on Lucia, and upcoming events, please visit www.lucialuna.com
