Strange Lights News April 8th, 2007
Sorry we just had to, Ha ha ha ha ha
Anyway this being our first letter on what is now the official Strange Lights mailing list there is alot of ground to cover.
First please let other people know about the fact that they can sign up on the website to get these mailings http://www.strangelights.net , as always there is tons of music and there are new music videos as well to download at the site. There is also a myspace blog connection for some of the band's recent thoughts.
Our video "Strange Matters" is almost finished.
It has been a much longer road than we expected but we are done with the actual video editing of our new video. We have however decided to give the video to a few local people with a survey asking various questions that will help us figure out the song order etc.. We feel this will help people enjoy it more, and also help us decide which video clips the press would like to here/see first. Thanks for your patience, its almost done! We are considering an audio only version of the songs but only if the video sells enough copies that we are sure it is warranted.
We need volunteers
It seems that now days there isn't a successful band that doesn't have a street team these days. Now the problem is Strange Lights is far far in the Boondocks of Southern Colorado and we have trouble connecting with the rest of the world. We would like to do things like national tour, poster in the towns we play, find gigs in your town, network with other bands, find ways to connect better with you, find band income sources, find press that will work with us, etc, I'm sure there is more we missed, but anyway you get the point. We feel that we have something to offer and in March of 2007 we have had almost 20 gigabytes of music and music video downloads to prove that there are significant amounts of Strange Lights fans out there. We don't know what your thinking so if you are interested in helping please email us at contact@strangelights.net . Please make sure you make the heading something like volunteer for Strange Lights or something so we don't throw it in the spam bin. Thanks!!!
Other new music?
We do have other new music that will be put on the website in the next 6 months or so. The Glenwood music gig from late 2006 has not been remastered yet and we think we can get to it. We also have some unused cover song recordings from the first album that have never been posted, we will see if we can get to them as well. We have also put off the next album for awhile to do the video project but we intend to get back to it soon which will have all new versions of some songs that can be heard in live versions on the website as well as some brand new songs never heard before. There are songs we are sure you haven't heard before as well if you look on the internet in the following places you might find something not on strangelights.net
